Fall is here!

Hello all,

I have been a horrible blogger lately! Sorry it has been so long since my last update! Since I last blogged, Baby Anders has certainly grew (along with my belly!). We had our last visit with the Dr. October 13. I have gained 3 lbs in about a month for a grand total of 6 so far. The heartrate was about 141 and we FINALLY made our appointment for our ultrasound. We will find out the sex of Baby Anders on Nov. 10 and we are so excited we even to get to share this appointment with both of our mothers! I'm not sure any of us can wait! :)

I will say that 2nd trimester is one million, billion times better than 1st trimester. All the nausea, sleepiness, gagging, and grumpiness is GONE! I think its safe to say Jim is loving 2nd trimester as well :)

Some new symptoms:

-COOKING! I begin thinking about a week ahead what I am going to come up with for the week and with the help of e-mealz.com, I'm having some great ideas! I am also enjoying making yummy fall desserts! I'm pretty sure my weight will skyrocket on this next visit!
-Cleaning...Ive always been a clean fanatic but its definitely hit an all time high!
-Grilled chesse sandwiches (or any cheese product), apple juice, oatmeal, peach yogurt, and grapes! Mmmmm, my mouth is watering as I write this.
-Baby Anders is really asking for any type of chocolate and Dr. Pepper. I try to fit these cravings in moderation, of course :)
-Pregnesia! I've have always heard about it but now its getting bad! Its kinda funny to me though :)
-Of course the BEST symptom now is feeling the baby move. I usually feel it more after laying down a bit, after eating sweets and always before bed. Lately, we can even see my tummy twitch when the baby kicks! It might just be the most wonderful feeling either of us has ever experienced.

When he has not been busy with work, Jim has been busy getting ready for deer season. He is very excited to be on this lease in South Texas and getting very antsy to get that big buck this year. Hopefully, he will find some time to get some duck hunting and fishing time in as well (but I think its a safe bet to say he will, haha). I have been busy with Jr. League which is a volunteer service organization geared toward helping the area kids. We are having a big "Charity Ball" in early November that is our biggest fundraiser of the fall season and I am looking forward to going to that (hopefully the dress I bought yesterday will still fit in a couple weeks!

We are also excited that my brother will soon be home for good from Iraq and then see him and Ryan come down for the A&M vs. Baylor game. Ryan loves A&M and he always enjoys coming to Aggieland so this will be a fun trip for us all. We also cannot wait to finally meet Baby Glueck! Erin is due October 28 and we cannot wait to finally see our little niece or nephew in the next week or two.

We hope everyone has a great week and I promise I will get better at updating this thing! :)

With love,
Jim, Nik, and Baby Anders

These are the days....

Hello family and friends,

August has been a very slow month for us, but a much needed one! Jim has worked almost every Saturday and believe it or not, he has loved it! The business is still doing great and we are both very thankful in this uncertain economy. Texas gets hotter by the day and I think we are all ready for some fall weather to make an appearance soon. B/CS has had some rain forecasts in the last couple of days but I havent seen too much around our house. But who knows, tomorrow is another day! :)

We enjoyed visiting with Mawmaw's sister and niece who came down from California this past weekend. The girls had a great time playing the family card game, Boo-ray (thanks Rita!) and the guys made some great fish. Then Saturday, the gals went to Martha's Bloomers & Jim had fun time at Moody Ranch hanging with some of his buddies, playing with 4wheelers and deer counting. I know he is getting excited hunting season is around the corner. And more excited that him and EJ are on a South Texas deer lease. Maybe we will have a new accessory to hang on our wall :)

Baby Anders is still doing very well-13 weeks tomorrow. We had our second visit August 17. The doctor put the handheld doppler on my tummy and I was so excited, I immediately heard the heartbeat! Then the doctor laughed and said it was mine I was hearing :) Finally we heard the babys...at a rate of 160. Maybe a girl? Its anyones bet! The doctor also heard the baby kicking me twice...that was pretty neat, although I didn't feel anything. We go again on Sept. 14 so we'll keep you posted. I need to post pics, my belly already has a very small bump! I am also very excited several of my girlfriends are pregnant with me! Some are due just before me and some right after. Its such an exciting experience and I'm so happy I have some of my close friends to experience it right along with me!

Have a great week and weekend everyone.

Oh Baby!

Hello Everyone!

It seems I have fallen WAY behind on this blog thing so here goes my best attempt to play a little "catch up". I will start first with the biggest update. If you have not talked to me or Jim in a while (or either of our mothers for that matter!) Jim and I are expecting our first child in early spring! God has truly blessed our wishes (and quite fast!) to start our family this year and we are so very thankful. We had our first doctor appointment in mid July and got to hear our sweet baby's heartbeat! I think this is one of the most amazing experiences we both have ever had (and we are only at the beginning of my pregnancy!) Our next visit is mid August so we will continue to keep you posted along the way....

We have had a very busy summer. Our camper has seen Somerville several times over, POC a couple of times, and most recently a trip to the Guadalupe. I also had a great trip to Dallas with some of my old BHS buddies and finally got to see what Dallas market is all about. Jim and I also got to see Bradley and Candis have the most beautiful wedding (and saw pics of Bless and David's amazing day since we had to miss due to our river trip). We have had a great time but are both happy to get back to reality, lots of work for Jim, and more naps for me!! :)

Well now that I'm all caught up, I better join Jim in bed with my cousin Eydi who we are babysitting this weekend. We hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and has a cooler August (with some rain to throw in for those who live in Texas and maybe Iraq?) :)

Love, Nik, Jim, and baby Anders :)

Just another week!

Hey everyone!

I cannot believe its Monday again. The weekend went by way too fast! This past weekend, Jim and I headed up to the good old town of Somerville to have some fun with the Radke's! Jim had a sit out a bit because he may have broken his toe last week. He still got out there and tried, and did way better than I could with a hurt foot. What a trooper! I also got the nerve to get out on the water and try wake surfing-and guess who got up on the board on the first try! ME! Now, Im no Marci Radke on the wake yet, but I am so gonna try to get better as the summer rolls on. I'll keep you posted!

This week, Jim is preparing to go on the Holy Rosary ACTS retreat for men. I am so happy that Jim has taken this step to walk closer with God, and could not be more proud! Please keep Jim in your prayers as he embarks on this truly wonderful experience. I am also so happy that Jim is getting to experience this with Edwin Joe and Jeff. I think this week will be one these men never forget!

I guess I will leave ya on that note...have a beautiful week everyone!

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Summer Lovin'

Hey everyone,

Wow, it has been a crazy 2 weeks! Since I last blogged, we have been to Somerville, Houston, Jim has been in POC, and were gearing up for yet another weekend in Somerville! I guess this has also been the time of year for weddings, baby showers, and bachelor/bachelorette parties, so we have been super busy with that. Congrats to our friends/family that are newlyweds & new parents! We have had a wonderful start to summer and are looking forward to the many fun times to come. Pictures will be posted soon!!

On another note, Jim and I are coming up on our 2 year anniversary June 2! Yea! The two year mark in marriage is so wonderful. Jim and I have learned so much MORE about each other this past year and has only brought us closer and more excited for the wonderful journey ahead. God has truly blessed me with Jim and I cannot wait to celebrate & grow many many more years with this wonderful man!! Please excuse me for gushing, but thats what anniversary's are for, right! ;)

Look out for pictures soon! Have a wonderful week!
